Why Sponsor Compassion
Creating the enabling conditions for compassion in any culture is a major commitment, and a lot of work. We are embracing this challenge freely. Compassion isn't something that is just going to happen throughout society. Healing, building a sense of community and learning how to relate in new ways will depend on what people give to this project. Stanely Cohen became relevant in sociology for his concept around 'moral panic.' We believe that we can use this powerful concept in the opposite way: creating a positive shift in our society, an ethical upgrade that supports small scale sustainable living and challenges obsessive greed and corruption from its core.
Music inspires people and poetry heartens the soul; this project could produce powerful amazing wealth beyond money, beyond material possessions beyond x-factor and Simon Cowal. It is music rejecting big business as a backer of their talents and instead putting people, community, planet and soul back into the heart of their work.
This movement has just got started and it has the potential to be the biggest social movement in the entire history of the world. Occupy is a global movement that has spread so fast, we believe it will be written in the history books along with all other great human rights movements. The question is what side of history will you be on?

Bob Dylan singing a hard rains a-gonna fall. The song has remained relevant through the years due to the dense imagery suggesting injustice, suffering, pollution and warfare. " Author Ian MacDonald described "A Hard Rain" as one of the most idiosyncratic protest songs ever written. |
